Our vineyard is located on the hillsides of Bué. For a long time, they brought their notoriety to the commune:
We are currently working under the label TERRA VITIS for all our wines grown since 2017.
Since 2020 we begin an organic conversion.
To obtain fine wines, we are conducting different tasks: pruning control, disbudding, green harvest, stripping. These tasks provide us with an optimal and qualitative harvest from our ceps.
The harvest is done by machine (Sancerre Rose, a part of Sancerre Blanc) and by hand (Sancerre Rouge, Sancerre Blanc Grande Cuvée, Sancerre Blanc, the rest of Sancerre Blanc).
The Jean-Paul Balland Domain is a member of Terra Vitis association. The certification was obtained following a global diagnosis of our exploitation, compliance with specifications and the certification audit (must be renewed every year).
The writing of the specifications are based on the sustainable agriculture principle :
"A mode of operation that meets present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs”
All our wines since 2017 have been certified TERRA VITIS.
Moreover, 2020 is our first vintage of conversion to organic farming.
2023 will be our first certified organic vintage.
